Yiau-Min Huang, Ph.D.

Emeritus Research Associate

Dr. Yiau-Min Huang’s taxonomic work on the Aedes subgenus Stegomyia, including the primary global vectors of dengue, chikungunya, Zika, and yellow fever, remains the gold standard today. During her time at WRBU, she confirmed the first invasion of the Southeast Asian arboviral vector Aedes albopictus collected at a port in Houston, Texas.
